Akaka Falls State Park is a must see if you are visiting the Big Island. There are two Falls, Akaka 442 Feet and Kahuna Falls 100 Feet. It is literally only a few miles away from The Cliffs at Hakalau. You will be able to see two gorgeous waterfalls one one short hike approximately 0.4 mile. As you follow the footpath, you will first see 100-foot Kahuna Falls. Continue to follow the loop around the bend and you will discover towering "Akaka falls" which plummets 442-feet into a stream-eroded gorge. Akaka Falls might be the island of Hawaii's most famous waterfall. This hike is less than one hour.
